The Osaki Escape Duo is a beautiful, sleek chair. Let's not be shallow, but design is usually the first thing that catches our attention. Once it grabs your eye, then it's time to look deeper. Massage performance, technology, build quality, comfort, and ergonomics are what truly matter.
I'm going to tell you something that many manufacturers will never tell you. Every model in my showroom has been thoroughly researched, assembled by me personally, and put through extensive real world use. I've seen how these chairs are built, the quality of the materials used, and how they hold up over time.
Just like car manufacturers, many massage chair brands share the same platform. Yes, even some of the biggest names and most popular models. The Escape Duo is no exception. Is that a bad thing? Not at all. Would you complain if Mitsubishi used a Ferrari engine?
The Escape Duo, Quantum, and Kozue all share the same frame, software, most of the hardware, and many of the same functions. The difference comes down to the decisions each brand made to separate itself.
Osaki made what I personally believe was the best choice by adding a calf roller massage system instead of an ankle stretcher. In my opinion, the ankle stretcher does very little. If your body is not positioned perfectly in the chair, it can even be difficult to keep your feet in place during a full stretch.
The calf rollers, on the other hand, provide a massage that very few chairs on the market can match.
From my experience, the Cozzia produces the most noise, mainly from the leather rubbing and plastic squeaking. Between the Kozue and the Escape Duo, I think they are the two strongest overall. Both also include an excellent entertainment system with a built in tablet that supports YouTube.
The massage itself feels extremely similar between the two. The Kozue seems to scan your body a little more gently, while the Escape Duo does a much more thorough shoulder scan, making sure it accurately detects your body position before the massage begins.
